Tirana Gives a New Twist to the Old-Timey Tic-Tock Trend

Sculptor and visual artist Graciela Fuentes has assembled molds from antique pocket watches she found at markets in Europe to create Tirana Jewelry. Each distinct piece is hand-made from recycled precious metals. Her necklaces, pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets are inspired by this vintage, rustic and delicate aesthetic. Other pieces are influences by the industrial atmosphere of Williamsburg, where she had a booth at the Crest Hardware Art Show this year.

In her days as a New York City DJ, Graciela’s alias was “Tirana del Amor,” a name she borrowed from a Mexican pop song about unrequited love. “To me, the word ‘Tirana’ embodies a strong, confident woman who makes her own decisions, which seemed the perfect message for my line.”

While vintage jewelry is quite the current trend, Graciela’s pieces are so unique that they won’t go out of fashion.
